The Opportunity

The Senior Producer of VidCon Anaheim oversees the execution of the event from start to finish. Their job is to ensure the event is planned successfully, executed in a safe, entertaining, informative, and inspiring manner, all within the agreed upon operational budget. This position requires the organizational and managerial skills needed to make budget decisions, work cross functionally to ensure all departments are delivering on deadlines, and coordinate all event details such as decor, catering, entertainment, hotels, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare show budget and manage execution of said budget.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives to continue to drive event success and to keep the event activations current and fresh.
  • Sit on VidCon's senior team, proactively identifying and working through event strategy and challenges from planning through the event.
  • Act as lead project manager, running and organizing VidCon's project management software.
  • Assist in managing internal teams and ensure that all production deadlines are met.
  • Negotiate budgets and terms with vendors, suppliers, and other show partners.
  • Negotiate attendee hotel block agreements and manage relationships with the hotels through the event.
  • Collaborate with third-party security partner on perimeter, RFID, event/consumer flow, and other security operations and logistics
  • Oversee event food & beverage orders, floor plans, and sustainability efforts.
  • Act as the primary point for the show decorator, A/V, and the facility. \
  • Hire and manage on-site personnel at VidCon Anaheim.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies during planning and event execution.
  • Partner with the marketing team to execute promotional activities for the event.
  • Ensure the event is executed smoothly and in a way that maximizes the experience for attendees, sponsors, and talent.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve problems and issues that occur on-site.
  • Work with the sales team to exceed sponsors' expectations on-site and pre-show.
  • Analyze the event's success and deliver post-show reports and post-mortems.
Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in event management as a show manager or associate show manager.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Deep project management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently and independently.
  • Strong leadership with an ability to collaborate with various team leads and executives.
  • Proactive approach to solving issues and critical thinking when troubleshooting problems.

The salary range for this role is $80,000- $95,000 based on experience.
