Manages, plans, and organizes the staff and activities of the Communications department for assigned facility. Manages all activities of the department to optimize safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of the communication systems. Oversees the AV Project Management team responsible for enterprise-wide conference room builds, renovations, AV modernization efforts, and vendor coordination |
Job Responsibility
- Provides leadership to Enterprise Communications team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
- Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
- Manages all activities of the department to optimize safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of the site communication health system.
- Manages the evaluation, acceptance testing, preventative maintenance, and repair of complex communication systems.
- Manages all communication vendor relationships.
- Develops and prepares department's annual operational budget for review by the appropriate administrator.
- Monitors expenses to ensure operation is within budgetary constraints.
- Develops departmental policies and procedures; supervises team members, interviews, and hires new personnel.
- Authorizes approval for purchase of supplies, check requests, and petty cash vouchers.
- Prepares statistical and financial reports and surveys for hospital and outside agencies.
- Ensures resolution of vendor and site administrative and technical problems.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
Highly Preferred
- 5-7 years of AV or IT project management experience, preferably in a healthcare or enterprise setting.
- 2+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams or project portfolios.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale AV/conference room projects from planning through execution.
- Familiarity with AV system components (Crestron, Extron, Shure, Q-SYS, Cisco, Zoom Rooms, etc.)
- Strong understanding of low-voltage construction timelines, infrastructure requirements, and vendor coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across geographically distributed sites.
- Skilled in stakeholder communication, executive updates, and change management.
- Knowledge of ADA, life safety, and AV design standards is a plus.
