Description and Qualifications: As part of a multi-year strategic hiring and growth initiative in Applied Psychological Science, the Department of Psychology at The University of Oklahoma is seeking applications for three tenure-track faculty openings, two in Quantitative Psychology with a focus on health outcomes (one at the Assistant level and one at the Associate or Full Professor level), and one in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Associate or Full Professor level with a focus on attention, memory, or language. These positions align with the strategic plans in Psychology and in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships (https://www.ou.edu/research-norman).



The Psychology department offers the PhD in Cognitive, Industrial/Organizational, Applied Social and Developmental, and Quantitative Psychology (Norman campus), and an MA in Organizational Dynamics (Tulsa campus). Additionally, some faculty members also work in a multidisciplinary degree program in cellular and behavioral neurobiology.



For the tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Quantitative Psychology, the department seeks an emerging scholar with a promising research program in cutting-edge data analytics or computational modeling, particularly as applied to health and well-being. We are looking for a candidate whose research will complement and extend our department's strengths in (intensive) longitudinal modeling, dynamic modeling, psychometrics, and structural equation modeling. A commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong potential for developing an externally funded research program, a commitment to excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in quantitative methods, and a dedication to mentoring students from varied backgrounds. A Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field is required by the appointment start date (August 17, 2026).



For the tenure track or tenured Associate/Full Professor position in Quantitative Psychology, the department seeks a leader in developing and applying advanced quantitative methods to pressing questions in health and/or related outcomes. Current quantitative faculty are known for their interdisciplinary scholarship in areas including (intensive) longitudinal modeling, dynamic modeling, psychometrics, and structural equation modeling. We are eager to welcome a colleague whose expertise will complement and extend this core, fostering new collaborations within the department and across the university. A record of securing external research funding is essential. The successful candidate will be an established investigator with a commitment to excellence in mentoring graduate students and teaching in our quantitative psychology curriculum. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field.



For the tenure track or tenured Associate/Full Professor position in Cognitive Neuroscience, the successful candidate will have an established record of productivity, including a record of external funding, with work focused on aspects of attention, memory, or language. This search is motivated in part by the recent revision of the University's strategic plan, which includes an emphasis on growing neuroscience research. With respect to enhancing the research portfolio of the department, the successful candidate will ideally have a record of both basic and applied research, including expertise developing and applying mathematical or computational models. Although all methodologies in human cognitive neuroscience are welcome, we are particularly interested in scholars capable of participating in the recently announced research agreement with the Siemens Corporation, which will bring a high-field (7 Tesla) research-dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) instrument to the University of Oklahoma Health Campus in Oklahoma City. The successful candidate will also have an established record of effective mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and should be able to contribute to the teaching of core courses in cognitive neuroscience, as well as to the development of novel course offerings at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field.
