The work location for this position is to be determined and will be communicated at the time of offer. Candidates must be willing to relocate to any First Solar location. Relocation assistance may be provided where applicable.

Basic Job Functions:

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the waste water treatment, process water systems and the recycling process. This includes managing of the water and recycling supervisors and routine trouble shooting of the process. Additionally responsibilities will include; implementation of Maximo, Maximo job plans maintenance, working with Manufacturing Engineering to implement PMs and predictive maintenance, assignment of work based on technical skill level, implement and document training procedures to maintain and improve the competency level of the technicians, ensure all documentation is in place and maintained, working with vendors, contractors and engineering to manage projects. Responsible for motivating all team members, maintaining high morale levels & achieving operational excellence. Responsible to ensure that proper product quality standards are met at all times.

Education/Experience:



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science.
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience with experience in a CMMS system.


Required Skills/Competencies:



  • Supervisory/employee relations skills.
  • Wastewater treatment capabilities (preferred in manufacturing environment.)
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel and Access use).
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Industrial chemical handling experience
  • Experience in chemical analyses - both instrumental and wet
  • CMMS experience
  • Project management


Essential Responsibilities:



  • Lead Waste Water (WW) and Recycling team to meet company's goals and objectives
  • Responsible for the operation of the waste water treatment, process water system and recycling process
  • Ensure environmental permit compliance for all WW and Recycling operations
  • Analyze and organize resources to ensure maximum productivity and utilization
  • Assist the Wastewater and recycling engineer in any process changes, including documentation and training.
  • Encourages process improvement using the proper format ensuring process and product safety, product quality, lowering costs while increasing throughput.
  • Interfaces with other Company and Supplier personnel as required, such as during the ordering of necessary chemicals and materials
  • Maintaining proper maintenance schedule of equipment and supporting First Solar Maintenance staff or outside contractors, as needed.
  • Maintaining the maintenance documentation in the CMMS system
  • Creating effective communications to foster team building.
  • Strict adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
  • Oversight and understanding of the responsibilities of the Wastewater Treatment Recycling Operators to properly manage hazardous waste.
  • If necessary properly label gaylords/drums, keeping both closed at all times, and assure that both gaylords and drums are dated.
  • Inform EHS Department of any waste management issues that arise and of any new associates that need to be trained.
  • Ensure waste materials are discarded in their designated containers
  • Ensure hazardous waste containers stay closed except when adding or removing waste
  • Ensure satellite accumulation containers stay in their designated locations.
  • Ensure all safety administrative tools like LOTO, PTP, ESSO, and Confined Space permits etc. are properly used by all team members
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:



  • This position will have direct reports.


Travel:



  • 10% - 20%
  • If hired during plant start up, you will be expected to travel to other First Solar locations for training.


Estimated Salary Range:



  • $97,500 - $139,000, Annually

  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to: steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection & respirators) as a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
