Get to Know Your Team:

  • Tulsa Spine & Specialty Hospital specializes in surgical services, diagnostic imaging, and pain management, offering state-of-the-art MRI, computed tomography, and myelography technology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily turnover and terminal cleaning of surgical suites, including walls, ceilings, floors, and all equipment.
  • Transport patient beds and stretchers as necessary from patient areas to surgical suites.
  • Assist with positioning and prepping of the surgical patient, stocking of supplies for the department, and handling and delivery of surgical specimens.
  • With appropriate training, they may scrub to assist as needed in the surgical field to hold limbs, retractors, or cameras.
  • The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures, under the guidance and direction of the Director, OR Manager, and Clinical Coordinator.
  • The Surgical Orderly will follow all guidelines set forth by the AORN Standards and Practices

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Six months of experience as a nurse aide or orderly in a health care environment.
