Job Summary
GKN Aerospace's Defense Business Line is searching for a highly motivated, self-directed experienced paralegal to support the legal function serving clients in the US, UK, and Europe. The successful candidate will provide support in the areas of contracts, corporate governance, litigation and dispute resolution, legal research and writing, and maintaining databases for the legal team and the business, among other general legal and administrative functions.
This is a hybrid in-office / remote position with the ideal candidate being located in the Dallas / Ft. Worth metropolitan area. Exceptional fully remote candidates will also be considered.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze basic legal documents, such as non-disclosure agreements, routine contracts, subcontracts, and settlement agreements in coordination with attorneys and the Contracts and Procurement organizations.
- Provide comprehensive assistance for special projects aimed at improving business processes across functional areas.
- Assist as needed with strategic transactions, including organizing due diligence materials and managing checklists within databases.
- Provide support for litigation, mediation, arbitration, and the resolution of claims, involving contractual and employment matters.
- Assist with corporate governance, including maintenance of corporate records and responding to requests for corporate documentation.
- Coordinate with other departments, as needed and respond to a variety of inquiries from internal and external sources.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, be extremely organized, adaptable, and efficient, with the ability to work with collaboratively and effectively with lawyers and other business functions under minimum supervision.
- Significant substantive knowledge of the law relevant to commercial contracts, employment law, federal procurement, dispute resolution procedures, and related matters.
- Proven ability to manage multiple demands and projects in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Legal Studies, related field or equivalent experience; paralegal certificate required.
- 10 years' experience, preferably in-house or combination of working with basic commercial contracts, general corporate matters, and supporting litigation.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Westlaw.
