About the role:

As a Process and Mechanical Engineering Industrial intern, you will join the Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel team and complete their placement at the Western Zirconium manufacture facility.

You will report to the Engineer Design Manager and be located at our Ogden location. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical engineering responsibility for standard engineering design tasks with standard techniques as an independent author, with the guidance/review from plant engineers
  • Work in a team with plant engineers in the delivery of non-standard engineering design tasks or on tasks concerning the application of standard tools to more complex chemical processes.
  • Maintain the nuclear safety culture at Westinghouse and compliance with company policies
  • Provide support in the development of technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Define, progress and report or present back on assigned work packages
  • Evaluate, select and utilize standards, techniques, procedures and criteria for development of engineering design documents including calculations and specifications
  • Determine required activities, prioritizing, and scheduling tasks whilst progressing towards an agreed project deliverable



Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial, or environmental engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed Sophomore year of college
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, CATIA or similar 3D CADD
  • No relocation assistance provided



We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
