Your role

As a Service Technician, you will work in a shop environment performing basic preventive maintenance and repairs on portable industrial equipment including air compressors, generators, light towers, engines, pumps, and energy storage systems. This may include the "tear-down" and/or reassembly under supervision of units that are being remanufactured.


You will:



  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs on portable industrial equipment including air compressors, generators, light towers, engines, pumps, and energy storage systems in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and under the guidance of more qualified Service Technicians.
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting on equipment including a proactive, systematic and analytical approach aimed at identifying the root cause of mechanical issues.
  • Operate forklifts, lifting devices and overhead cranes as needed to perform maintenance and repair activities.
  • Follow the company's safety standards, including using the personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
  • Perform work within expected timeframes and demonstrating first-time-right fixes.
  • Maintain your work utilization equal to or greater than 75% of the time.
  • Comply with the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) standards for the facility including, but not limited to, understanding and following the Atlas Copco Group SHEQ policy, working safely and wearing appropriate PPE, completing safety walks and quality checks, and maintaining facility compliance with environmental aspects.
  • Read, understand, and use technical documentation.
  • Record your hours worked on jobs daily.
  • Provide basic tools for the job and will maintain these tools in proper working order.
  • Participate in technical training activities aimed at improving your skills and competencies in equipment maintenance of portable industrial equipment.
  • Share knowledge and provide training for other service technicians as appropriate.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a clear, positive, and collaborative way.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:


A minimum of 1-2 years of technical service experience performing basic preventative maintenance on portable industrial equipment with demonstrated quality outcomes and within allotted timeframes.


Education:


A High School diploma or GED is required.


Skills:



  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills
  • A basic level of understanding and competence with computers and associated systems (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.), business systems. distribution channels and accountig practices
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Willingness to grow within the business
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license


Travel:


Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%)


Supervisory responsibilities:


This position has no supervisory responsibility.
