About the Team

The Activities/Enrichment team at Lakewood Care Center designs and organizes a variety of engaging events and programs to enhance residents' quality of life. They focus on promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being through activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise sessions, social events, games, and outings. Their goal is to create a stimulating and supportive environment where residents feel connected, active, and valued.

Mission for Position

Our Enrichment Specialist/Aide enriches the lives of residents by creating meaningful and engaging activities while providing compassionate care that nurtures their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Enrichment Specialist/Aide primary focus is to support and enhance the quality of day-to-day life of our residents. This role uniquely blends enriching activities and daily direct care to support quality of life in areas of mind, body and spirit. This position will primarily focus on resident life enrichment, but will also assist with transfers, personal care, and other support tasks as part of the daily activity programs.

Position Type

This is a full-time position, working approximately 32 hours per week with every other weekend rotation. Casual employment opportunities are also available.


Qualifications

Qualifications



  • At least grade school education, prefer high school diploma or GED.
  • Must complete a State of Minnesota approved Nursing Assistant Program Test Out in compliance with the Minnesota Statute 144A.61 subdivision b within 4 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR certification


Ideal Candidate



  • Experience in geriatrics desirable.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers both verballyand in writing.
  • Maintains therapeutic boundaries with patients.
