Job Title: Temporary I-9 Audit Assistant

Duration: 2025-10-27 to 2025-12-07 (Potential to extend)

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.45

JOB SUMMARY

Location: Westbrook ME office- 5 days in office
UPDATED 10/7/25:Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8 hours/day
Start time: 8:30 am (1/2-hour lunch)
Duration: 6 weeks- 10/27/25- 12/7/25 (possible 2 week extension, if needed)
Experience: Intermediate- we need workers who will be able to start with limited training.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Temporary I-9 Audit Assistant to support our People Operations team in conducting a comprehensive audit of Form I-9 records. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with federal employment eligibility verification requirements and maintaining accurate employee documentation.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Review and verify existing Form I-9 documentation for completeness and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Identify and flag incomplete or incorrect I-9 forms.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity throughout the audit process.
  • Document audit findings following a set process.
  • Support other administrative tasks related to the I-9 audit as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in HR, compliance, or administrative support roles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Form I-9 requirements and employment eligibility verification processes preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with Workday or other HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

    Work Environment:

  • This is a temporary, on-site position.
  • Standard business hours apply, with flexibility depending on project needs.
