POSITION SCOPE

The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for managing crews to help lead projects across the western half of the Northern Region (North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, & Wyoming). They will safely lead construction teams and coordinates production to drive improvement; including environmental and safety compliance, reliability, quality, production, and monitor cost. They will facilitate team development and growth, build employee commitment and ownership, resolve arising problems, and hold employees accountable.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Lead and understand all aspects of field operations, including but not limited to crushing plants, wash plants, material specifications, and reclamation.
  • Understands and monitors project cost analysis and budgeting
  • Works and communicates closely with Regional Manager, General Superintendent and Foremen to assist with job scheduling and appropriate staffing needs
  • Organizes job site for mining area, plant site development, and equipment
  • Planning and coordination of all labor, materials, & equipment required to complete a project in a timely manner
  • Monitor field productivity to ensure work is completed in a cost effective and professional manner
  • Ability to communicate professionally with owners, customers, prime contractors, subcontractors, and employees.
  • Assist in the hiring, training and evaluation of new team members
  • Create and maintain good working relationships with all employees
  • Safety, Safety, Safety - comply with all MSHA and company policies, procedures, and standards of safety
  • Extensive overnight travel is required
  • Other duties as assigned



BACKGROUND



  • Valid Driver's License is required
  • Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy is required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; must have the ability to give clear directions and instructions
  • Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal/civil background check is required
