Position Summary
Supplies the nuclear generating fleet with competent and properly trained personnel and maintains the fleet accredited training programs and materials to satisfy INPO and regulatory agency requirements. Development and implementation of fleet training programs to meet company, INPO, and regulatory agency requirements for competent, qualified nuclear generating station personnel
Responsibilities
- Provide effective instruction and evaluation in the classroom, laboratory and/or in-plant settings.
- Develop, administer, grade, and control examinations and other appropriate evaluation tools.
- Provide support for program analysis and design.
- Develop and/or update training materials to ensure technical accuracy and recency.
- Participate in site and industry training assessments, audits, and evaluations.
- Support Duke Energy refueling outages which may include temporary assignment to other appropriate outage support positions, as required.
- Maintain diverse qualifications and skills to provide various classes and services
- Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualification, as required.
- Must maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
Required/Basic Qualifications
- High School/GED degree
- 2 years related work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- In addition to desired degree, 5 years related work experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years Nuclear Plant Engineering Experience
- Demonstrate leadership qualities that emphasize flexibility, initiative, motivation, teamwork, organizing, planning, scheduling, and executing work assignments.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral presentations, ability to speak in a clear, concise, and effective manner before small and large groups.
- Must have ability to establish effective working relationships internal and external to the work group.
- Good working knowledge of regulatory training requirements.
- Five years instructional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the INPO Accreditation process and NRC requirements.
- Thorough understanding of the Systematic Approach to Training
- Good computer skills with a working knowledge of basic programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams...etc.) and ability to learn new applications.
Working Conditions
- Typical classroom and distance learning environment
- Some work in power plants (system walkdowns, On the Job Observations...etc.)
- Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to their designated Duke Energy facility.
Specific Requirements The incumbent must meet the minimum ANSI requirements for this position identified within the scope of Nuclear Operating Fleet Administrative Procedure AD-LS-ALL-0011, Confirmation of Regulatory Guide 1.8 Personnel Qualifications.
- 0.25 years of nuclear power plant experience
- Shall have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience
