Position Title: Portfolio Analyst

Position Summary:

Portfolio Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing the performance of TDECU loan portfolios. This role involves assessing loan risk, monitoring portfolio performance, preparing detailed reports, and providing recommendations to optimize portfolio performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for development, implementation and production of daily business reporting, analytics and forecasting including delinquency and loss. Tracking and reporting of portfolio performance and emerging trends for lending risk analysis. Collaborates cross functionally to provide data and reporting for NCUA, CECL and individual business unit reporting Generates ad hoc reports for management on an as needed basis. Analyzes and collects data to recognize potential exposures and emerging risks relevant to TDECU lending portfolios Develops and maintains risk reporting processes, including periodic reports for management and stakeholders on risk exposures, trends, and key risk indicators for TDECU lending portfolios. Assists in creating risk dashboards and metrics to provide clear, timely, and actionable insights. Monitors risk exposure limits, highlight breaches, and escalate concerns as necessary. Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to risk management. Assists in maintaining and updating risk management policies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational objectives. Collaborates with audit and compliance teams to facilitate risk-based internal and external audits. Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis to support risk-related decision-making processes. Use analytical tools and software to assess risks, including Excel, risk modeling software, and statistical tools. Collaborates with teams across all lines of defense to support ad hoc reporting and analysis projects on an as needed basis. Provides analytical support and insights supporting performance and asset quality of TDECU lending products and portfolios.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent mix of education and experience is preferred.

Licensure:

  • N/A

Experience:

  • Three to five years data and/or portfolio analysis in finance, lending or related field
  • Experience working in a financial institution and knowledge of federal regulations governing financial service industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excel-proficiency creating pivot tables, writing formulas and macros.
  • Knowledge and experience with report writing tools preferred.
  • Strong desire to be a part of a collaborative, team-first environment.
  • Ability to support multiple assignments and stakeholders, prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to review data and develop portfolios.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments impacting TDECU lending.
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to understand and interpret large data sets and draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations for action.
