JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping leadership, the Lead Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for assigning discharges and other job requests throughout the hospital to Housekeeping Assistants. Assists with assigning equipment and rounding to obtain the number of daily cleans and discharges for each unit to help the leadership team assess the workflow for the day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Conducts daily rounds to determine the number of daily cleans and discharges that will be needed for the day. Assigns or reassigns the work load to maintain consistent and manageable workloads to complete cleanings throughout the Hospital. Includes the assignment of ad hoc requests and discharges.

* Holds primary responsibility for the cleaning of isolettes.

* Submits orders for replacements of materials and supplies. Reports to supervisor the need for minor repairs to the buildings or to the equipment.

* Assists leadership with assignment of equipment and provision of supplies during the shift.

* May assist with training and orienting of employees to new areas of the Hospital.

* May be required to perform the duties of a Housekeeping Assistant, Senior Housekeeping Assistant, or Housekeeping Specialist as necessary.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalency exam.

Experience: One (1) year related experience.

KNOWLEDGE

These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education or licensure/certification.

* Ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships with a diverse population.

* Ability to perform varied manual cleaning and related labor; lift, push, operate, and maintain equipment used; and keep simple records.

* Ability to perform work-lead responsibilities such as training and orienting new employees, assigning and reviewing work for completeness and accuracy, scheduling work, and other coordinating and support duties for a supervisor/manager.

* Ability to prioritize work assignments and use time efficiently.

* Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the job.

* Ability to use good judgment in any situation not covered by daily work schedule.

* Ability to work effectively as a leader and a team player.

* Knowledge of and skill in using all equipment, cleaning and sanitizing materials or products used in daily maintenance.

* Ability to learn and utilize computer systems for email, inputting work requests, managing work assignments, and other related tasks.

Additional Information Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $34.96 to $39.20
