Electrical Design Engineer - Digital Category: Engineering Employment Type: Direct Hire Reference: BH-389848 We are Hiring Printed Circuit Board Designer / Electrical Design Engineer Wichita, Kansas (Onsite) Direct Hire - Aviation & Avionics Manufacturer $90,000 - $135,000 + Relocation Assistance Take the lead in designing next generation avionics instrumentation and power electronics systems used in aircraft around the world. This is an opportunity to join an elite engineering team building the Flex Custom Instrument Platform - including high-speed digital interfaces, graphics & LCD systems, and advanced DC?AC conversion technologies. If you're a digital focused CE/EE engineer who loves hands mon design, PCB development, embedded coding, and building hardware that goes into real aircraft, this role is for you. WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE EXCITING You will work across the full product lifecycle: Concept development Schematic capture & mixed-signal design PCB design & layout coordination FPGA development (VHDL) Embedded programming (C) Hardware bring-up & troubleshooting Test, validation, and certification You won't be stuck in one discipline - you will touch hardware, firmware, digital comms, PCB design, and system integration. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Must-Have Experience 5-10 years digital design experience Strong background in DC ? AC circuitry (mandatory) Experience with mixed-signal schematics & PCB design Familiarity with high-speed digital buses, such as: SPI I2C CAN UART LVDS Other high-speed communication channels Ability to write and debug embedded C Ability to write and troubleshoot VHDL for FPGA designs Comfortable building hardware by hand: Soldering Debugging Testing with scopes, analyzers, meters Able to prototype, test, and validate designs CE degree preferred (EE also accepted, CSE considered) DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES Design schematics for digital and mixed-signal circuits Work with PCB layout engineers to finalize board designs Develop & test embedded microcontroller software (C) Develop FPGA firmware (VHDL) Bring up prototypes and troubleshoot hardware issues Work collaboratively with mechanical, software, power, and certification teams Support battery systems, avionics instrumentation, sensing, data conversion, and storage products Participate in DFM/DFT, verification, and environmental/EMI compliance testing Document designs (BOMs, ECOs, work instructions) NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS(Not required but highly valued) Experience with RTCA DO 160, MIL STD?810, MILSTD?461 DFM / DFT best practices Aviation, aerospace, or regulated industry experience WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE Work on cutting-edge avionics used by top aircraft manufacturers High ownership - your designs directly impact next-gen products Stable and respected aviation company Compensation up to $135K for the right experience Relocation assistance provided Collaborative engineering environment (work directly with Cary's embedded/digital team and senior power engineers) APPLY TODAY If you have strong digital hardware experience, enjoy hands-on lab work, and want to design real avionics systems used globally - we want to talk to you.
