Shop Floor Helper (Contract to hire)

Will enter into the Carpentry Union 30 days after conversion

6am-230pm, Mon-Fri

Position starts at $16/hour.

Once in the Union, pay will increase to $17/hour and you will also receive union benefits, medical insurance, pension, etc.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Shop Floor Helper to join our warehouse and production team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations including packaging sheet metal for shipment, maintaining inventory, and ensuring overall shop organization and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Package sheet metal products for shipment according to order specifications and quality standards
• Build and prepare wooden skids and pallets for shipping
• Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading trucks
• Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and finished goods
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Support general warehouse and shop floor operations as needed
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals

Qualifications

• Prior warehouse, manufacturing, or construction experience preferred
• Familiarity with hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn new skills
