Work Schedule Student Nurse Internship - Begins June 1st, 2026. -9-week program -Full-time hours -Option to stay employed in the position after the completion of the program. Essential Functions
- Under the direction of an RN contributes to the formulation, implementation and evaluation of a plan of nursing care. Provides care and education incorporating age-specific, cultural and spiritual needs of the patient and significant other into the plan of care.
- In collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team participates in nursing care conferences.
- Assists in maintaining a therapeutic environment establishing appropriate relationships with patients, visitors and staff and promoting safety and infection control procedures.
- Assists the RN with general nursing care on selected patients following established protocols.
- Accurately documents pertinent observations of patient's condition and care in the medical record, maintaining confidentiality of position acquired information.
- Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts.
Education
- Must be currently enrolled or completed an approved Nursing Program. Required
- Must provide copy of HS diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained. Required
Skills and Abilities
- Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
- Good interpersonal, organizational and critical decision-making skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate in English both verbally and in writing and effectively interact with patients, staff and community resources.
Licenses and Certifications
- Bi-Annual CPR certification required and must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Required
