Position Description and Purpose:

The Parts Coordinator is responsible for managing the inventory, procurement, and distribution of parts and materials required for maintenance and production operations. This role ensures that all necessary components are available to minimize downtime and support efficient manufacturing processes. The Parts Coordinator works closely with maintenance, production, and purchasing teams to maintain accurate records and streamline parts logistics.

Key Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables using inventory management systems.

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming parts and materials.

  • Issue parts to maintenance and production personnel as needed.

  • Track usage and reorder parts to maintain optimal stock levels.

  • Coordinate with vendors and purchasing to ensure timely delivery of parts.

  • Assist in sourcing alternative parts or suppliers when necessary.

  • Maintain organized and clean parts storage areas.

  • Support maintenance planning by ensuring parts availability for scheduled work.

  • Generate inventory and usage reports for management review.

  • Participate in cycle counts and inventory audits.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or a technical field preferred.

  • 2-4 years of experience in parts coordination, inventory control, or a related role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with CMMS or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Maximo).

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a co-manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment.

  • Understanding of maintenance operations and equipment parts.

  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
