POSITION SUMMARY

The Clubhouse Manager will be responsible for the overall performance and success of the Homeowner/Black Pass Clubhouse and Lounge, including all areas of member services, Food and Beverage, Social Activities, Guest Access, Purchasing, Facilities Maintenance and Housekeeping in the newly renovated space. The primary responsibility of the Clubhouse Manager is to drive the business model that supports the culture of hospitality excellence, creativity, standards of service and member engagement. This is a benefit eligible full-time year-round position, compensated at $65,000 annually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Partners with accounting to develop and review routine and regular analyses of activities, costs, operations, and creates forecast data to determine department progress towards stated goals and objectives
  • Ensures timely responses to member/guest complaints and promptly addresses their concerns, providing personal attention as necessary; ensures adjustments to systems and processes that minimize repetition
  • Serves as a mentor and advocates for staff members, understanding their personal and professional motivations, supporting their professional development and progress toward achieving their goals
  • Holds and attends regular team meetings for reports, developing alignment across all areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for systems and processes that ensure standards are upheld by both members and team members alike
  • Collaborates with appropriate managers to develop and assess long-range plans, including staffing needs for all areas of responsibility
  • Works closely with partnerships and approved consultants to ensure successful recruitment, retention, and performance
  • Directs implementation of policies and procedures for the Clubhouse Member Services
  • Greets guests and maintains a visible and approachable presence throughout the operation
  • Monitors safety conditions and team member conformance with safety procedures
  • Ensures employee performance is reviewed on an ongoing basis
  • Direct supervision of daily Clubhouse operations with the goal of maximizing member satisfaction and ensuring that the quality of the service as well as food and beverage items served meets or exceeds the standards established by Stratton's Food and Beverage Department
  • Daily interaction with members and staff with the goal of ensuring superior service and quality
  • The Clubhouse Manager is expected to "set the pace" as to attitude, presence and demeanor
  • Provides oversight for the Clubhouse ongoing and proactive/ preventative maintenance program for mechanical systems, energy management, communications, and safety programs
  • Audits timely and meaningful employee training and staff development programs performed by both direct and indirect reports, supporting their growth, ability to engage and generate passion from the hourly team members they work with
  • Monitors and responds to employee grievances and complaints in a timely fashion, demonstrating Alterra's Shared Values
  • Supports creation of the annual "Clubhouse Events Calendar"
  • Maintains high visibility, regularly communicating and interfacing with members, both in person and through structured written communications
  • Ensure the intention of the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles for the Homeowner's Lounge and Black Pass program is understood through actions, practices, processes and through discussions
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, disciplinary action, and ensuring proper documentation is completed
  • Holds and attends regular team meetings for reports, developing alignment across all areas of responsibility
  • Additional duties as assigned


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business management, or related field, preferred


Experience:

  • A minimum of five years combined as a senior manager, Food and Beverage Director or comparable position in a high-volume, high-quality venue such as a destination resort, hotel or high-end/high volume private club.
  • Current and/or prior experience in highly seasonal operations which require an understanding of the dynamics inherent in annual staffing and activity increases and decreases to include staff procurement and training.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Recognition as a skilled and effective trainer; able to consistently realize tangible results as measured by exceptional staff performance and guest/member satisfaction
  • Experienced in managing multi-unit operations, brand standards, and stewardship of organizational culture
  • Strong POS systems knowledge
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
  • Able to work independently and take initiative without continual oversight


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
