Position Description

An opportunity to jump start a career in the electric utility industry through our Electrical Lineworker Power Associate Program.

What's Included:

Successful candidates will receive free tuition to attend the Electrical Line Worker Third Class program through a Technical College.

Tools, materials, and safety gear needed for the program will be provided at no cost.

Participants will receive a competitive hourly rate for the days worked during the program.

Program Highlights:

Hands-on training in an outdoor training yard designed to recreate real-world line work conditions.

Classroom instruction in electrical theory, safety procedures, and essential technical knowledge.

Earn your Third-Class Lineman Certification upon completion.

Gain on-the-job experience by working alongside experienced Santee Cooper line crews when not in class.

Location:

The work location will be assigned based on the crew quarters closest to the selected candidates home address.

Position Requirements

The scholarship applies to enrollment in the Electrical Lineworker program starting August 2026.

Must be 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma/GED by June 2026.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be able to work at heights and in outdoor conditions in all types of weather.

Must Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and learning.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, background check.
