GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Quantitative Analyst 1 is responsible for following established guidelines and identifying and resolving problems. Individual at this level is expected to utilize independence of thought but to refer more complex problems to supervisors or other experts. Individual would be expected to contribute to work flow or process change and redesign, and to form a strong basic understanding of the specifies product or process. May also be accountable for regular reporting or process administration as owner.

Incumbents at this level may manage a department, product or process with a large amount of independence. Typically referred to as technical expert and known internally and externally as reliable, knowledge able resource. Develops and exercised business plans, policies and procedures and may also be responsible for various projects to improve efficiencies. Individual at this level has a clear understanding of the firm's different businesses and the related economics.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This person will provide quantitativesupport for the Fraud Reporting and Modeling team
  • Utilize analytics approaches to report fraud trends, optimize operations reporting, and develop apps (when needed)
  • Work cross functionally within the department with analytics, operations, and other stakeholders
  • Provide ahoc support for operations, strategy, and leadership analytics requests
  • Required: 0-1 years of experience with advanced STEM degree or up to 1 years of applied experience utilizing programming languages (SAS and/or Python preferred)
  • Required: experience with data visualization via coursework or professional experience with Tableau, Power BI, R-Shiny, or other data visualization software

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Advanced degree in quantitative analytics, economics, statistics, engineering, or a related area
  • Minimum 0-1 years' experience with SAS and/or Python (experience via coursework acceptable)
  • Critical thinking skills (frame a problem, test a hypothesis, implement solutions)
  • Experience with common predictive modeling approaches (Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Lasso Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting, Decision Trees, Neural Networks)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to present a professional image
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and to be flexible
  • Experience with Microsoft office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is necessary
  • Prior management experience and evidence of leadership is a plus

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
