Employment Status: Full Time or Part Time - Seasonal

Wage Range: $22.50 - $23.50

Position Summary:

Teaches and directs up to 80 staff in the proper lift operations techniques. Stresses safety, guest satisfaction and Schweitzer regulations. Schedules crew members. Responsible for breaking Lift Operators and stations, providing communication and directions from Lift Captains to Supervisors, assisting in training and documentation with all staff.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for American National Standards Institute (ANSI) compliance at all lift stations.
  • Responsible for lift station professionalism and communication of Lift Captain needs to Supervisors.
  • Assists in break rotations and operations of all lift stations throughout the day.
  • Position requires helping with skill assessment and training of new and current staff.
  • Supports managers in the safe daily operation of our crew and equipment.
  • Assists with scheduling teams.
  • Responsible for working within the budget guidelines and work towards maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Maintain radio coordination with several mountain operations departments throughout the day.
  • Assist with ticket validations throughout the day.
  • Responsible for maintaining lift ramps and mazes as well as set up and tear-down of ropes and mazes.

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Shovel snow
  • Physically lift/assist children and handicapped skiers onto chairlifts.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and events.
  • Employees may work alone at times throughout the day for up to two hours.
  • Other duties as assigned

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications - Driver's License preferred

Technical - None

Physical Capabilities - Able to stand outside in all weather conditions and temperatures. Able to assist guests stand up with possibility of lifting 50+ pounds.

Additional - Leadership and training skills preferred; familiarity with Lift Operations and mechanics, snowmobile experience preferred, mechanical experience a plus.

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required - English reading, writing, communication and basic math.

Minimum time in a related position - On the job experience in Lift Operations - 3 years minimum.
