Title: Superintendent FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Branch Manager Location: Tampa, FL POSITION OVERVIEW The Superintendent is responsible for the overall supervision of field installation from start to finish for all projects. They share responsibility with the rest of the project team for the on-time, satisfactory completion of the project and for keeping costs at or under budget. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Supervise all field staff, coordinating regularly with general contractors, project managers, branch managers. * Ability to lead and mentor field employees. * Attend weekly job scheduling meetings to coordinate and allocate the proper amount of manpower per project. * Perform job checks for all new jobs to ensure the project is safe and ready for work prior to initiating manpower. * Visit and review active jobs weekly to ensure manpower, production, and safety is sufficient to keep the project within the timeline and budget. * Schedule and manage manpower for all active jobs, including monitoring and approving all weekly payroll hours. * Coordinate and schedule all material deliveries to the job. * Order all lifts and other equipment for active jobs and train team members on how to safely use them. * Schedule trucks and forklift maintenance. * Update project managers and branch managers with completion progress regularly. * Actively participate in the recruiting and hiring porocess for all new field team members. * Perform any necessary tasks for specialty projects such as concrete moisture emissions testing or layout and field measuring. * Implements and manages required job-site safety program and conducts weekly "toolbox talks". * Completes site accident reports immediately, completely and accurately. * Ensures that punch list items and quality issues are addressed and managed effectively to expedite collection of retainages. * And other duties as assigned by your manager. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or business preferred but not required. * 7-9 years' experience in construction, architecture, or equivalent including field experience. * Experience using estimation and project management software preferred. * Certificate in general construction preferred. * OSHA 10 and/or 30-hour certification required. * Forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, fall protection certifications preferred. * First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred. * Proficiency in MS Office. * Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills. * Ability to adapt to shifts in priorities and maintain confidentiality. WORK ENVIRONMENT Office Environment & Field Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. May sit and stand at will but must be able to sit in a chair for most of the time for long periods of time. Must be able to access all areas of the facility. May require travel by car or air. May also require the ability to work on project sites.
