Groundskeeper - JLL

What this job involves:

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor space. Their duties include planting flowers and shrubbery, mowing lawns and communicating with the property management to determine their vision for the space.

What your day-to-day will look like:

* Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding of all grounds areas

* Plant, water, fertilize, and maintain seasonal flowers, shrubs, trees, and other landscaping elements

* Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems

* Monitor and address pest control issues, diseases, and other plant health concerns

* Collaborate with property management and facilities teams to execute landscaping projects and seasonal preparations

* Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards * Maintain accurate records of work performed, chemical applications, and equipment maintenance schedules

Required Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent education

* Minimum 2 years of professional landscaping or groundskeeping experience

* Valid driver's license and clean driving record

* Knowledge of plant identification, proper planting techniques, and seasonal care requirements

* Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment safely and efficiently

* Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions

* Basic understanding of irrigation systems and ability to perform minor repairs

Preferred Qualifications:

* Certification in landscape maintenance, horticulture, or related field

* Experience with integrated pest management and organic landscaping practices

* Knowledge of local plant species and climate-appropriate landscaping design

* Familiarity with commercial property maintenance standards and client service expectations

* Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance

* Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish preferred in applicable markets)
