The Position

As part of Pharma Technical Operations (PT), Pharma Technical Technology (PTT) plays a key role in leading a seamless industrialization and thorough technical product management through integrating Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE), proactive maintenance, facility fitness, performance optimization and scalable manufacturing processes and technologies in support of the manufacturing network. Product and process robustness, efficiency and reliability are key performance indicators, PTT owns and drives towards improvement.

Within the PT organization, SHE matters are managed at the individual site level. In collaboration with the newly created Group SHE networks, this role is designed to help promote alignment, collaboration, and efficiency for PT-based SHE teams across the globe. This position is also responsible for developing the global SHE capabilities strategy, as well as enabling business processes within Group SHE.

The Opportunity
  • Shape the Future of Safety: Lead the charge in developing and implementing global Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) capabilities and strategies across Roche's vast Pharma Technical Operations (PT) network.

  • Be a Global SHE Architect: Design and build core business processes for Group SHE and foster a world-class SHE organization, influencing safety practices worldwide.

  • Drive Innovation & Efficiency: Spearhead initiatives that simplify, standardize, and innovate SHE performance and efficiency across all PT sites.

  • Bridge the Gap: Act as the vital link between PT sites and Group SHE experts, ensuring alignment and seamless integration of new requirements and digital solutions.

  • Impact at Every Level: Serve as a key business partner, network safety leader, and central point of contact, influencing senior leadership on critical SHE matters.

  • Coach & Catalyze Change: Leverage your expertise to identify risks, improve performance, and overcome barriers, coaching teams to achieve shared ownership and knowledge in safety.

Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as safety, engineering, chemistry or other technical fields.

  • Experienced Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) professional with over 10 years experience working in site and/or corporate environments.

  • Energetic leader who can motivate and mobilise cross-functional teams of different professional backgrounds and cultures to collaborate and achieve results.

  • Strategic leader who can simplify complex concepts and develop clear and actionable plans that meet SHE objectives and enable the business needs of the PT network sites.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence at the senior leadership level.

  • Experience in managing higher-risk safety programs such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), confined space entry, fall protection, electrical safety, chemical safety, and process safety is desired.

  • Experience with the PTT engineering design and SHE review processes for capital projects is desired.

  • Experienced in building SHE capabilities strategy, including (but not limited to) stakeholder analysis, risk modelling, capability mapping etc.

  • Business Process expert with experience in developing and implementing core business processes across large, matrixed organizations.

  • Agile leader with experience using the Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach (VACC) model.

Relocation benefits are not available for this posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, California is $187,800 - $348,800 annually.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
