Performs management and supervisor responsibilities pertaining to work order control, daily Facility and Plant operations. Manage, coordinate and monitor the maintenance, repair construction and administrative activities of carpentry, electrical, painting, boiler room and general maintenance functions. Manages daily control of outside contractors and follows through on completion of jobs.

Responsibilities

  • 1. LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES
    • 1.1 Facility Manager will provide day to day leadership and work with staff to ensure a high performance and a customer service oriented work environment. Plans, organizes, supervises and evaluates work assigned to staff to assure all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • 2. AUTHORITY
    • 2.1 Works with facility staff assigned to perform daily work; assist staff in the direction needed to perform work in a timely and professional manner.
  • 3. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • 3.1 Ensures compliance with the requirements of Joint Commission, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • 4. RESPONSIBILITIES/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • 4.1 Maintains a professional appearance at all times. Wears I.D. badge.
  • 5. SAFETY
    • 5.1 Assure the safety of patients, staff and visitors through enforcement of department safety policies and procedures.
  • 6. ADDITIONAL TASKS:
    • 6.1 Performs any additional assignments as required by the Associate Director.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School Diploma with Associates Degree in building technology and /or technical training with completion of apprenticeship in one or more of the maintenance trades.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two years experience as a licensed and/or journey level trades person with supervisory responsibilities.

LICENSURE

Must have a current driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Ability to keep records,
Ability to communicate and collaborate with all hospital personnel,
Ability to interpret blueprint drawings and sketches,
Ability to provide technical advice to trades person,
Ability to compose general correspondence using appropriate grammar and writing style.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Prolonged periods of standing; walking; use of sight, hearing and touch; moving/lifting items of varying weights.
