In the role of a Research scientist I you will be working in our Cancer Center. Summary This position is in the Translational Metabolomics-Preclinical Imaging Shared Resource. This position involves imaging mice, rats and other small animal models with multimodal imaging. The modalities available include 2D and 3D optical bioluminescence, fluorescence, radio/chemi luminescence, X-ray micro-computed tomography, and nuclear molecular imaging with Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and Positron Emission Tomography(PET). The research scientist will train other investigators, supervise and independently perform studies the above listed modalities to advance the goals of the principal investigator's research projects. This includes performing experiments, processing and analyzing data, compiling results and monitoring quality control processes to ensure integrity of research. Primary Responsibilities
Qualifications Appropriate experience may be substituted for edcuation on an equivalent basis. Minimum Required Education: PhD or equivalent degree in a scientific field, or MS with >5 years experience in imaging research and multimodality scanner operation Minimum Required Experience: None Preferred Education: Doctoral degree with focus in imaging and/or medical physics Preferred Experience: Prior nuclear molecular imaging experience, experience with use of 3D image processing software tools, Familiarity with Revvity (Formerly known as PerkinElmer) and/or MILABs optical and x-ray CT/nuclear imaging scanners or similar small animal imaging devices.
