What to Expect
As a Facilities Maintenance Planner for R&D Labs, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance plans to ensure the reliable operation of critical lab systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and infrastructure systems, as well as the ability to organize resources and align schedules across multiple teams. You will play a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and compliant operations within highly specialized laboratory environments, contributing directly to research productivity and facility excellence.
What You'll Do
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for all facility systems in R&D lab environments, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, hydronic loops, VAVs, compressors, dryers, exhaust systems, and specialized lab equipment
- Plan and organize resources, labor, and materials required for mechanical, control, and infrastructure system maintenance
- Create and maintain work orders for installation, repair, and modification of ductwork, piping, exhaust equipment, and HVAC components, ensuring proper procedures such as brazing, soldering, and welding are followed
- Support monitoring and troubleshooting of Building Management Systems (BMS) such as Automated Logic, Siemens, or Ignition, ensuring accurate documentation of system performance
- Schedule inspections to confirm mechanical and electrical systems meet performance, safety, and compliance standards, with attention to laboratory-specific requirements
- Coordinate with subcontractors for maintenance, repair, and installation activities, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards
- Provide planning support for general facility maintenance needs, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with operational priorities
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or coordination within industrial, commercial, or R&D environments
- Associate degree, technical certification, or completion of a trade school program preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and infrastructure systems, with familiarity in relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Experience with BMS platforms such as Automated Logic, Siemens, or Ignition, and the ability to interpret system data for planning purposes
- Familiarity with laboratory facilities, including ventilation, cleanroom requirements, and specialized utilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CMMS software, with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Effective communicator, detail-oriented, and customer-focused; able to work independently and collaboratively across teams

Expected Compensation
$76,000 - $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
