Cloud Architects are responsible for designing, analyzing, and managing the applications, services, and infrastructure of a cloud-based system. They are required to have expert knowledge in cloud services, platforms, and business technology. A Cloud Architect is an IT professional who is responsible for overseeing a company's cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. Cloud Architects oversee application architecture and deployment in cloud environments, including public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud. One of their primary objectives is to guarantee that the cloud infrastructure aligns with the business needs concerning scalability, performance, security and cost efficiency. These technology professionals ensure that company data is properly migrated to secure cloud computing systems, versus physical storage systems on the premises.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop cloud migration strategy that's carefully integrated with the business objectives
Design and coordinate the architecture of cloud-based applications and services
Assess the requirements of a project or business, and recommend suitable cloud solutions
Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to the cloud
Ensure the security of cloud-based systems by implementing appropriate controls and measures
Optimize the efficiency of cloud services by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with service providers
Plan and implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures
Create and maintain documentation of cloud architectures, operations, and workflows
Provide guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud
Maintain information accuracy and security while initiating bulk data transfers
Create data transfer and storage standard operating procedures and policy documentation while adhering to industry standards and best practices
The cloud architect should be able to communicate effectively with cloud providers and third parties that are involved in the program

Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role
Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar platforms
Understanding of network operations, software development, and information security
Proficient in cloud ecosystems, APIs, and frameworks
Experience with coding languages like Python, Java, or .NET
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good communication skills to be able to communicate complex technical concepts to team members and external vendors

Desired Qualifications
Experience with SQL and other data tools
Horizon toolset familiarity
Change Management familiarity
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
