Job Summary

The Senior Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to support the safe and efficient execution of the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) project at the Blue Grass Army Depot. This role supports the Department of Defense's Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives (ACWA) Program, which oversees the destruction of the U.S. chemical weapons stockpile. The Senior Planner/Scheduler will integrate schedules across disciplines, identify risks, analyze critical paths, and provide schedule performance insights to management.

This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a site-specific clearance for access to restricted areas at the Blue Grass Army Depot. Employees must meet reliability and safety standards under Army Regulations, including the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP).

Job Responsibilities




  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6



  • Integrate schedule activities across disciplines, departments, and functions



  • Coordinate with all project teams to ensure understanding of schedule requirements and priorities



  • Identify schedule restraints, dependencies, and inter-discipline interfaces that affect project timelines



  • Monitor and report on critical path activities and overall schedule performance



  • Conduct schedule analysis and identify problem areas; propose corrective actions and alternatives



  • Lead the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources or cost impacts



  • Support project management by identifying construction schedule-related cost trends and potential delays



  • Collaborate with project controls and field leadership to align execution strategies with schedule objectives



  • Ensure all scheduling practices comply with established project and corporate standards




Education and Experience Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 10-13 years of related professional experience, or high school diploma/equivalent with 14-17 years of relevant experience



  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain facility-specific clearance



  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening




Required Knowledge and Skills




  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software



  • Experience in schedule development, critical path analysis, and performance measurement



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint



  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills



  • Ability to work independently and under pressure while meeting tight deadlines



  • Demonstrated ability to integrate, analyze, and report on complex project data




Preferred Qualifications




  • Construction experience on large, complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects



  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) on EPC projects



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend and implement corrective actions



  • Flexibility to respond to urgent requests and shifting project priorities




Additional Job Details




  • This position is located at the Blue Grass Army Depot and supports the Parsons Blue Grass team as part of the Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives (ACWA) program.



  • The project involves the safe destruction of 523 tons of mustard and nerve agents through chemical neutralization and supercritical water oxidation technologies.



  • Candidates must be physically fit and able to work safely within an operating chemical destruction facility.



  • Employment requires participation in random drug and alcohol testing.




Surety and Access Requirements

This position is designated as both a Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and an Unescorted Access Position (UAP) under Army Regulation 50-6 (Chemical Surety). As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete and maintain:




  • Personnel security investigation



  • Urinalysis testing



  • Medical examination and respiratory screening



  • Personnel suitability and reliability evaluations
