We have an exciting opportunity to join the inpatient nutrition team at MSK! If you are new to the profession and have just completed your dietetic internship or looking to work closely with oncology patients and have acute care experience, we encourage you to apply. This is a great opportunity to advance your skills in oncology nutrition while making a real difference in a patients' oncology treatment and recovery journey.

You will be supported and receive mentorship from an experienced and collaborative team of Registered Dietitians. We strive to provide exceptional patient care by implementing evidence-based practices and deliver excellent hospitality. Our department is aligned to the organization's mission and values and prioritize strong team engagement.

Role Overview:

  • Provides comprehensive nutrition care to assigned patients by assessing nutritional needs, developing, implementing, and re-evaluating nutritional care plan.
  • Ensure seamless coverage on inpatient units, collaborating with diverse clinical teams, and referring patients to other services as needed.
  • Counsel patients and caregivers about special nutrition needs and procedures, prior to discharge, and coordinates the provision of outpatient nutrition services as needed.
  • Create and update patient nutrition education materials.
  • Train and support staff as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics/Nutrition or related field
  • Please note: Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum degree requirement for eligibility to take the registration examination for dietitians changed from a bachelor's degree to a graduate degree. All other didactic and supervised practice eligibility requirements remain the same.
  • Clinical rotation/dietetic internship exposure, or working RD experience in an inpatient/acute care hospital setting
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN), New York State
  • Passionate and excited about starting or continuing career path in Oncology Nutrition

Additional Information:

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, MSK Main Campus - Food & Nutrition Department
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8AM to 4PM with rotating weekends (*8-9 per year) & holidays
  • We care about flexibility and balancing your work and home life as much as we can to ensure consistency and opportunity across both team and departmental needs. If you have a preference to start between 7a-9am, let's discuss during interviews!

Pay Range: $75,500.00 - $116,900.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
