Position Highlights

CIBS is seeking a Scientific Analyst to support critical research operations by managing and
interpreting data. ensuring quality control and maintaining accuracy across projects. Analyst will
process and interpret data using established statistical techniques, generate monthly data
presentations for investigators, and proactively document veterinary team calendars to define action
items and schedules.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Routinely upload weight, behavioral data, animal status
    updates, clinical observations, locations, and other relevant information into
    databases (Climb.bio) according to departmental requirements and standardized
    operating procedures.
  • Perform ETL (extract, transform, load) processes for data to
    be entered into the system. ETL would include extracting animal data from
    multiple staff input, transform data to meet the unit's data standards and
    compliance and lead analysis of all animal data inputs.
  • Routinely process and analyze database, using previously
    established statistical and analytical techniques, to implement quality control
    measures and validate data, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Generate monthly data presentations for investigators, using
    statistical and mathematical software packages to interpret results.
  • Assist in proactively and historically documenting
    veterinary team calendars to define action items, objectives, and scheduling of
    work intake. Coordinate and track data collection process. As needed, help
    train and assist in animal-related duties if coverage is necessary to
    understand data quality restraints.
  • Assist team with routine data/database issues, consultation,
    technical assistance and document troubleshooting in relevant standardized
    operating procedures.
  • Prepare routine reports documenting research methods,
    interpretation of results, visual representations of data, and recommendations.
  • Contribute data to manuscripts and grants for various
    projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including expertise with Excel.
  • Proficiency with MatLab.
  • Data analysis/interpretation.
  • Study Design experience.
  • Data quality control experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One year of relevant data analysis work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
