The American Red Cross is seeking a Direct Fundraising Associate to support our Fundraising initiatives across the country. This position is a virtual National Headquarters position and can be located anywhere in the United States.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The Consumer Fundraising team is responsible for building the foundation for optimal long-term donor value by developing strategies and programs that increase individual donor engagement, financial revenue, and fundraising capacity for the American Red Cross. The team focuses on marketing to individual donors via direct response and digital channels (e.g. direct mail, email, phone, search, mobile, etc.) to engage constituents and to raise revenue to support the mission of the American Red Cross.

The Direct Fundraising Associate is responsible for developing and executing campaigns that empower individuals, teams, and communities to raise funds on behalf of our mission. You'll manage digital and grassroots initiatives and drive innovation across third-party tools. In addition, this role will also support and partner with regional staff to support initiatives and fundraising events based on local needs. This position requires an experienced professional with strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:

  • Coordinate digital multichannel peer-to-peer fundraising strategy development and execution towards the public and across Red Cross staff to increase revenue, engagement, and awareness of Red Cross Peer to Peer initiatives.
  • Assist in managing local mass email marketing for events and peer-to-peer fundraising in the Adobe Campaign tool.
  • Help lead national trainings, cohorts, and resources for the organization in fundraising strategy and Peer to Peer best practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on peer-to-peer fundraising strategies and advise regions or chapters on platforms, processes, and communications to have the most effective fundraiser and positive donor journey.
  • Manage data flow of fundraisers from third party platforms to Red Cross systems. Build and manage communication journeys to convert fundraisers into repeat fundraisers, donors and/or sustainers.
  • Cultivate relationships with top fundraisers through email, phone, or text. Create toolkits, resources, and incentives to support and motivate fundraisers.
  • Launch and scale new fundraising initiatives. Use data and testing to drive process improvements to increase engagement, revenue, and the fundraiser experience.
  • Develop annual and quarterly plans to meet revenue goals and expand fundraiser engagement.
  • Provide cross-channel reporting of KPIs, financials, and conversion rates. Leverage tools like PowerBI, CRM, and fundraising platforms to analyze trends and improve outcomes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team.
Travel: Travel may be required up to 25%.

Physical requirements: Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs, willingness to work outside standard established business hours, and a minimal amount (0-10%) of business travel are required.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

  • Familiarity with platforms including GoFundMe, DonorDrive, Classy, Tiltify, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and envision long-term opportunities that align with organizational goals and drive innovation.
  • Experience with data visualization, campaign optimization, revenue forecasting, and reporting tools.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment, including a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Pro-active, self-starter with a can-do attitude who can work independently but also within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Humanitarian spirit and commitment to the mission of the American Red Cross.

SALARY INFORMATION:

The salary range for this position is $62,000- $80,000.

Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary information will be shared at the time of phone screening based upon your location and qualifications.
