| What to Expect Tesla is looking for a highly skilled Design Engineer, Infrastructure who is passionate about our mission to join our North American R&D Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development projects from concept to build in the LA area and across the U.S. This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers, and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. We have a demanding and fast-paced environment, so being self-motivated and self-disciplined is critical. This role will support a new program and will require an entrepreneurial type of candidate who can work with a fast-paced environment and who possesses self-motivation and discipline.What You'll Do
 
  Organize and manage construction design packages, design reviews, and deliverables to support all aspects of construction, including scope of work, kick-off, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, and IFC, and CA phase and close outCommunicate effectively across various cross-functional teams within Tesla, including Construction, Facilities, Workplace, IT, EHS, Project Controls/Estimating, etc. to build relationships and ensure overall project alignmentManage customer/end user requests and fundamentally understanding stakeholder requirements to convert them into project deliverables and schedulesUnderstand different project delivery methods and define strategies for design and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages for various jurisdictionsImplement innovative design methodologies and own the full design and engineering efforts for infrastructure construction development from concept to delivery to meet aggressive goals and schedulesOn-board consultant support, as needed, including Request for Proposals, invoicing, and overseeing the teamUnderstand lean construction principles and fully integrated design using BIMWhat You'll Bring
 
  Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, or equivalent experience Minimum 7+ years of professional experience managing complex Design projects with heavy MEP scope for R&D facilities, Workplace, and site infrastructureCA RA or AIA license preferred; Project Architect experience is a plusAdvanced project management skills (managing multidisciplinary teams within A/E firms) demonstrating application of project and program management fundamentals to solve complex engineering problemsExperience with BIM software, including Revit and Autodesk Construction CloudProject management software such as Plan Grid or Procore is requiredAbility to effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel and prioritize critical tasksCompensation and Benefits
