Job Description:

Microchip Technology is searching for a Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing, who will be responsible for managing the Marketing Communications Content team. This team is responsible for reviewing and editing marketing collateral, website content, video scripts and other digital content so that it complies with the company's editing, writing and trademarking standards. The team also provides training, support and guidance for users of the company's website content management system and actively participates in ongoing improvements and modifications to the website.

This position requires excellent project management, interpersonal communication and leadership skills. Candidates for this position must also have strong English writing, editing and proofreading skills and the ability to understand and transform technical information into well-written content that reflects our brand voice and communicates our value propositions to the intended audiences.

The core responsibilities of the Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing include:

  • Develop and implement a global digital content strategy aligned with business goals and marketing campaigns
  • Team management
    • Oversee the day-to-day activities of all members of the team and assign projects and tasks to them
    • Mentor and provide the necessary support and guidance that each individual requires for their career development, perform performance reviews
  • Web content management
    • Collaborate with members of the Web team to implement new initiatives and improvements to the website
    • Oversee the website's navigation structure and creation of new areas as necessary
  • Oversight of editing, writing and trademarking standards
    • Train and support the Content team to ensure they are familiar with and actively enforcing the established standards in the content that they review and approve
    • Provide training for new members of the Marcom team or marketers from the various business units
    • Collaborate with members of the Technical Publications team to update the standards as necessary
    • Act as liaison between the marketing teams and Legal when trademark questions arise
    • Ensure all content complies with our editing standards, web style guidelines, legal requirements and SEO goals
  • Frontend support for website content management system, with assistance from Content team members
    • Provide training, advice and guidance for users via:
      • User guides, videos and other training materials - create and update as necessary
      • Regular group Q&A sessions for all users
      • One-on-one support sessions as necessary
    • Become familiar with how to manage assets like documents and images
  • Additional possible content activities may include:
    • Assisting content owners with making improvements to new and existing website content
    • Reviewing video scripts
    • Reviewing and editing marketing emails while following best practices for optimizing content to increase open and clickthrough rates
  • Collaborate effectively with the promotions, public relations, web and multimedia teams to establish a consistent look and feel of marketing content and support product launches and other important initiatives

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree (preferably in Communications, Marketing Communications or Public Relations) and a minimum of 12-15 years of relevant experience with at least 4-5 years in a managerial role
  • Experience in writing and editing corporate and product content; experience with technical marketing content is a plus
  • Knowledge of website marketing and management principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat DC
  • Preferred: familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager or similar GUI-based content management systems

Required Skills and Traits:

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage team members in multiple locations
  • Excellent English writing, editing and proofreading skills with a comprehensive understanding of AP Style and trademarking rules
  • Ability to effectively communicate with, advise and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and workflows simultaneously
