DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
- Design and implement plans for alterations and additions to healthcare facilities, including modifications to mechanical, electrical, and other utility systems. Implement standards, design quality, technical support/troubleshooting, energy modeling of building systems, and developing the scope of projects complying with CMS, state, federal, fire regulations, insurance requirements, and environmental regulations. Coordinate and develop engineering scope for capital projects.
- Integrate the system infrastructure assessment report to prioritize capital asset conditions annually. Develop accurate budgets and estimates relating to infrastructure systems and equipment. Provide direction for owner-furnished contractor-installed equipment procurement and submittal approval.
- Supervise consulting engineer performance, track progress of construction documents and bid issue dates through drawing review and value engineering processes, validate MEP as built, and ensure controls are installed correctly before project closeout.
- Conduct technical evaluations of utility distribution systems, powerplant, and building systems; analyze and implement cost-effective improvements.
- Work effectively across multiple departments as it relates to the adoption and amendment of system standards. Demonstrate working knowledge of software programs related to assigned duties.
- May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure by the Missouri Board for Professional Engineers (APELSLA). Possession of a State of Missouri PE stamp. Three (3) years of PE licensed experience.
Master's degree. Engineering experience in a healthcare setting. Experience as a project manager. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
