Do you want to be a part of a performance driven organization? Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Facility Planner to work in our Maintenance Department assigned to the Materials and Fuels Complex. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.

INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel development and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Plan and prepare work instructions that provide direction to the Maintenance Department for corrective maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance, and the implementation of modifications.
  • Request and ensure receipts for all materials needed for work package execution. Obtain job materials and tools/equipment, and coordinate support crafts, operations, and technical support to provide for smooth execution of maintenance work.
  • Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification activities and to provide input for refining and improving work package quality. Communicate with Work Execution Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to resolve work package issues.
  • Define procedures, drawings, equipment and materials required to perform planned work packages. Facilitate package preparation by preparing or submitting required work permits, plant barrier impairments, welding/grinding permits, fire impairments, and operability impact statements.
  • Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable DOE orders and all laboratory and mission center procedures. Review all required work packages to ensure safety, high quality, technical thoughtfulness, and screening or evaluation (if required).
  • Develop maintenance procedures to facilitate and enhance work package development, maintain compliance with codes, standards, and vendor recommendation, and maintenance direction.
  • Provide project management of other system planners or contractors to develop detailed elements of overall package preparation.
  • Participate in work control/scheduling meetings, planning feedback/craft interface time, detailed contract requisition reviews, complex troubleshooting, detailed OPEX searches, Maintenance risk/CO request reviews, Planner peer reviews, and system interaction reviews to ensure applicable station processes and applicable changes are supported.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Level 2: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of related experience, Associate's degree and 6 years OR 8 years of related experience with a High School Diploma.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
  • Experience in Asset Suite, including proficiency in asset management, work management, and supply chain processes within the system.
  • Qualified INL Maintenance Screener.


Relevant experience includes at least one of the following:



  • Maintenance (Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control, HVAC, Heavy Equipment)
  • Construction or Project Management
  • Nuclear Research
  • Navy Nuclear or Commercial Nuclear Maintenance /Operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Editing, and working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" / "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:



  • The pay range for this position is $65,054 - $133,416. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, climb stairs, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
