DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will operate under the direct guidance of the Highway Foreman, assisting the Maintenance Repairman 2 with various skilled trades tasks related to construction and finishing. Your responsibilities will include developing rough plans, estimating material needs, selecting appropriate tools, and executing tasks such as measuring, cutting, placing, and finishing materials. You will also be tasked with ordering and pouring concrete, as well as constructing various structures, including railings, stairs, partitions, ramps, shelves, and inlets. Additionally, your role will involve engaging in manual labor with both motorized and non-motorized hand tools, ensuring proper tool usage, and reporting any missing or damaged equipment. Maintaining a safe work environment is a critical aspect of your role, which requires strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of protective gear. This includes conducting visual inspections, making necessary adjustments, and documenting your findings. Staying vigilant is essential to prevent accidents, promptly reporting any incidents, and seeking medical attention when necessary to mitigate further harm.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time seasonal employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Schedule is subject to change based on weather/season
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
