DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be part of an IT service team that provides on-site support to multiple health and human services agencies, offices, health centers, and clinics. For these responsibilities you will be highly visible throughout these locations, process user requests for support via phone and online submissions, and serve as the high-level point of contact for LAN and WAN maintenance, support, and repair. This includes diagnosing and solving user problems related to computer applications programming, debugging, data access, printer/PC operations, hardware problems, network communication problems, and other computer related matters.

You will work independently and utilize various diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues; diagnose and resolve network connectivity, hardware, and software related printing problems; as well as set up and configure personal computers, including internal and external devices and software, at both local and remote sites. You will also have the opportunity to promote user self-help guidance, assist second level support with diagnosis and testing, and participate in IT training to further advance your skills. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be expected to come into the office a minimum of three days per week, but this could change and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Danville.
  • Parking is located at the building and is free.
  • Salary: Selected candidates, who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $59,345.00.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
