Manufacturing Corporate Controller
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Exempt, Full-Time, Direct-Hire
Overview:
A dynamic and well-established global manufacturer is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee its accounting operations and financial management functions. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with extensive experience in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting, audit preparation, J-SOX compliance, ERP systems, and team leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but are not limited to:
Manage and supervise all aspects of corporate accounting, including AR, AP, general ledger, cost accounting, and budgeting.
Lead the financial close process in collaboration with the internal finance team and external CPA firm.
Develop, maintain, and implement accounting policies and procedures.
Develop and enforce internal control frameworks aligned with J-SOX standards.
Prepare for external audits and ensure timely audit completion.
Oversee all tax-related filings, including income, payroll, and sales/use taxes.
Conduct annual pricing and cost reviews in partnership with relevant departments.
Drive enhancements and upgrades of ERP and accounting systems in partnership with external consultants.
Lead system improvement upgrades and accounting technology initiatives.
Coordinate annual inventory audits with external auditors.
Streamline and accelerate the monthly close process, with a target of reducing the cycle.
Act as a key liaison between Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT to support broader business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA certification is required
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a senior-level leadership role
Strong accounting background in a manufacturing setting, including cost accounting
Hands-on experience with J-SOX compliance and internal controls
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Exceptional communication, leadership, and team development skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving business environment

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
