EMS Liaison - Emergency Medicine and Services

• Will teach rescue squad personnel advanced life support courses.

• Will provide classroom instruction as well as conduct practical instruction for rescue squad members.

• Will monitor BLS and ALS support therapy administered by rescue squads coming to UVA.

• Reviews specific ambulance calls with physicians nurses and rescue squad personnel.

• Change procedures as reflected by data collection.

• Involved in regional EMS regulatory committees.

• Attends State EMS committee meeting as necessary.

• Assists with planning and implementing teaching programs on a statewide level.

• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate's Degree required within 3yrs of hire date. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: 1 yr of relevant experience required.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse or certification as a Paramedic in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
