The Salvation Army Mission Statement:

BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to case manage shelter residents requiring assistance the of The Salvation Army by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Establish and maintain a safe and secure environment with an emphasis on non-violent communication and intervention.
  2. Secure shelter guests' personal property at intake and at various times throughout the day in designated storage areas
  3. Direct shelter guests in cleaning and caring for the shelter areas for sleeping.
  4. Assisting with shelter guest intakes and appointments with shelter staff
  5. Monitor and assist shelter guests in laundry and day room areas.
  6. Clean and sanitize all sleeping areas, bathrooms, kitchen, and office areas.
  7. Assisting with kitchen duties and supervising the common area.
  8. Any other duties relating to your job as requested by the Supervisors and/or Officers.
  9. Other related duties as required.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS



  1. Must be a high school graduate or have an equivalent GED.
  2. Must be at least 21 years old.
  3. Some experience with disadvantaged populations, whether through work, volunteering, or being a member of a disadvantaged population required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Ability to operate the telephone.
  2. Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
  3. Ability to operate a computer.
  4. Ability to process written, visual, and /or verbal information.
  5. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, and Printer.
