Overview:

Join our 32-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit!

Cardiac Telemetry is a critical care unit for patients requiring continuous heart monitoring, including both chronic and acute cardiac and/or medical conditions. The unit's most common types of patients are those with CHF, heart arrhythmias, chest pain, myocardial infarction, post pacemaker insertion, post cardioversion as well as patients who have experienced syncopal episodes, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and electrolyte abnormalities. The unit also cares for patients with chronic conditions such as COPD, CAD, diabetes, hypertension, and those on hemodialysis. Occasionally the unit will monitor pre- and post-surgical patients.

  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:4-5 with tech support
  • All private rooms
  • On-site central monitor station to oversee telemetry rhythms as well as monitors at the nurse's station

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure:

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Must hold and maintain a current LPN license for the hiring state or hold a compact nursing license
  • Comply with all state nursing board requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts
  • Capable of gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting as needed

Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required or must complete within 30 days of hire
  • Additional unit-specific certifications as required, with timelines for acquisition
