The Client Solutions Lead, Strategic Partnerships is a solution-oriented role accountable for driving cross-Optum Life Sciences strategic partnerships with top life sciences and pharmaceutical companies. This role will be dedicated to multiple concurrent deals, helping set the partnership vision and strategic direction, and leading early internal workstreams. This role will serve in a client-facing role throughout the opportunity development, through the discovery and design phases, and ensuring continuity through the implementation phases.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end strategy of multiple strategic partnership opportunities, serving as the main client-facing lead in managing these opportunities from intake to close. In addition, this role will serve as the liaison between sales, business unit teams, product strategy, and the customer. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build solid relationships with key decision makers of each client, and solid organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Lead the execution of strategic partnerships with prioritized Optum Life Sciences (OLS) clients
  • Create new client proposals, concepts, content and pull through to contracting
  • Work with business teams and clients to prioritize OLS product components for inclusion and a prioritized roadmap; perform any requested feasibility analyses
  • Present detailed recommendations to clients; participate in demos
  • Interface with Compliance, Privacy, Legal (CPL) to ensure all contracts are reviewed and
  • Must be able to put together financial components of proposals and assist with any client FMV processes
  • Help build a templated proposal strategy for strategic partnership opportunities
  • Assist if needed with client meeting logistics; coordinate the appropriate internal resources to qualify and drive the opportunity forward
  • Develop expertise and fluency regarding Optum Life Sciences products and services
  • Interfaces with internal Optum departments
  • Provide regular communication to management on client concerns and feedback
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of clients' business and contract with Optum
  • Travel to client sites may be required (Up to 25%)

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years in a client facing role with healthcare or life sciences experience
  • Demonstrated track record of productive relationships with C-Suite and senior-level client executives
  • Proven excellent negotiation, influencing, collaboration and listening skills
  • Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a highly complex, matrix environment
  • Ability to successfully negotiate complex internal operating environments with a high level of collaboration



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Life sciences strategy consulting experience
  • Demonstrated advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions
  • Proven understanding of healthcare to include financial acumen, product, operations, technology operation, and data
  • Proven deep understanding of and experience with UnitedHealth Group's enterprise, business units, and capabilities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
