Intermediate System Administrator supporting the US Army Criminal Investigation Division (USACID) Criminal Investigative Management System (CIMS)
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintaining operating system servers in support of business processing requirements. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations, upgrades, and maintains them in accordance with government standards. Monitors and tunes the systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Maintains accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Installs, updates, and troubleshoots systems/servers. Manages system/server resources including performance, capacity,
* availability, serviceability and recoverability while monitoring and maintaining system/server configuration. Conducts periodic system maintenance including clearing (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing. Installs, implements,
* and configures support of system components. Complies with government systems administration standard operating procedures and implements and enforces local network usage policies and procedures. Requires knowledge of cybersecurity principles, computer networking concepts, protocols, network security methodologies, risk management framework, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and performance tuning tools and techniques.

Required Skills
* Possess skills in monitoring, optimizing system/server performance, operating system administration (account maintenance, data backups, system performance, installation and configuration of new hardware/software). Knowledge of virtualization technologies, virtual machine development and maintenance, system administration, network and operating system hardening techniques.
