Yext is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting team. This role is responsible for managing the external financial reporting process and complying with US GAAP and SEC regulations. Additionally, this role will be a key member of the technical accounting team, responsible for researching, documenting, and advising leadership on technical issues related to the Company's evolving needs, such as debt, M&A activities, stock-based compensation, and other non-routine transactions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and quick learner. With a curious mindset and excellent organizational and communication skills, this individual will work well cross-functionally and be able to form relationships throughout the company to facilitate accounting involvement in processes and projects.

What You'll Do



  • Lead the drafting and filing of all SEC financial documents, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks and 8-Ks
  • Support the annual Proxy filing in conjunction with Legal
  • Maintain quarterly Disclosure Committee review process and support Audit Committee activities against reporting cycle deadlines
  • Review other publicly filed information for consistency and accuracy, including quarterly presentations and investor day materials
  • Conduct research on significant, complex, or non-routine technical accounting matters, such as purchase accounting, financial instruments, and leases, including drafting memorandums that document accounting conclusions and managing external auditor review process
  • Ensure compliance with XBRL tagging and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Stay up to date on U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations including evaluating the impact, advising management, and driving adoption efforts of new standards or regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executives and internal teams such as Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, IR and FP&A to ensure efficient and accurate information flow, alignment on timing of deliverables, and achievement of business objectives
  • Provide ad-hoc technical guidance to other functional areas on the accounting and revenue teams
  • Develop and maintain the accounting policy manual
  • Act as primary point of contact for external auditors regarding SEC filings
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects including but not limited to, updating operating metrics inclusive of definitions, peer company research, M&A diligence and integration activities
  • Continually improve, automate, and enhance reporting process and controls structure/framework
  • Lead and/or participate in special ad-hoc projects as necessary


What You Have



  • 9+ years of relevant experience, with an optimal mix of Big 4 public accounting, including technical focused practice experience, and public company experience (SaaS or software preferred).Bachelor's degree in accounting/financeCPA or equivalent professional designation required
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Proven process for performing complex technical research and analysis from the problem definition stage through communication of technical accounting concepts for consumption at more senior or junior levels, and facilitation of integration into standard close activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous mindset when it comes to work product/output, strong analytical skills, and ability to recognize/manage interdependencies within filings and/or processes
  • Able to navigate competing priorities, tight deadlines and fully own end-to-end reporting process
  • Comfortable navigating technical areas including business combinations, equity/stock-based compensation, leases, financial instruments, etc.
  • Workiva and NetSuite experience preferred

Pay ranges at Yext are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee's job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at Yext are typically eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental and vision benefits; life insurance; short term and long-term disability; 401(k) retirement plan; and vacation and sick leave. Successful candidates may also be eligible for equity (stock) based compensation and/or variable pay programs based on performance relative to goals and targets.

Annual Base Pay Range
$138,500 $207,500 USD
