DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accounting Associate, you will serve as a primary accountant for the federal reporting, accounting, and cash management of agencies within the purview of the General Accounting's Education, Recreation, and Cultural Development Unit. Key duties of this position include assisting with federal grant billings, preparing federal financial reports, performing various reconciliations, and reviewing and analyzing accounting transactions and records. You will collaborate with agency partners and other accountants to meet operational objectives, evaluate and report on annual activity, and analyze problems to determine possible solutions. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. You will be required to report to headquarters to pick up your equipment and attend periodic meetings at your expense. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 24 college credits in accounting.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
