The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Psychological Services Manager. This individual oversees psychological evaluations, testing, competency assessments, and restoration services, ensuring all assessments adhere to evidence-based practices and integrate seamlessly into patient care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Oversee psychological evaluations, testing, competency assessments, and restoration services across all three counties TGC serves.
  • Stay informed of advancements in psychological assessment tools, forensic evaluation methods, and treatment strategies.
  • Provide continuing education units (CEUs) to the agency and staff on topics related to psychological assessments, competency evaluations, and best practices in behavioral health.
  • Complete testing inventory management and make purchases for testing materials as needed to ensure availability of necessary tools across all service locations.
  • Provide psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) and develop ongoing treatment plans.
  • Conduct and supervise psychological testing, interpretation, and report writing as needed.
  • Accurately document assessment findings and therapeutic interventions for clinical and legal purposes.
  • Offer consultation to staff on psychological testing results and related clinical concerns.
  • Develop and implement competency restoration programs tailored to individual needs
  • Perform competency evaluations when needed to determine individuals' ability to participate in legal proceedings



EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (PhD or PsyD) and licensure as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board by the first day of employment

EXPERIENCE:

Required: minimum of four years' experience in providing direct clinical service.

Preferred: experience with the Kansas system of community-based mental health care and associated evidence-based practices.
