To support this goal, Syngenta's NA Seeds Commercial Operations Finance team is looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Junior Finance Business Partner to provide essential finance support to stakeholders and their organizations through collaborative business partnerships, financial analysis, planning, and analytics. This role will contribute to the company's overall financial health and strategic alignment by conducting in-depth financial modeling, offering critical insights, and enabling informed decisions by senior leadership.

Accountabilities:

  • Financial Modeling & Analysis - Develop and maintain basic financial models and reports using Excel. Learn to apply financial modeling techniques under supervision that support business cases for function stakeholders.
  • Support Financial Reporting & Analysis - Assist in preparing monthly/quarterly financial reports, focusing on data accuracy and validation of sales performance, gross profit and working capital. Support variance analysis, identifying and explaining key deviations from budget/forecast.
  • Business Partnering & Collaboration - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, primarily providing support to senior business partners in meetings and presentations. Prepare materials for financial reviews, provide actionable insights, and assist in stakeholder management.
  • Support Budgeting & Forecasting - Assist in the annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting processes, primarily by gathering and organizing data. Support scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Process Improvement & Financial Controls - Support the implementation of new financial tools and systems. Assist in maintaining process documentation and standard operating procedures. Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives, focusing on data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Professional Development - Actively seek feedback and implement improvements to financial reporting, analysis capabilities, and supporting tools. Build technical and soft skills through training and practical application. Stay current with relevant accounting standards and financial practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) may be preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related field, preferably within the agriculture or related industry.
  • 3+ years' experience in financial reporting, modeling, and business partnering in a corporate setting required
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SAC, financial modeling software, SAP, Qlik, PowerBI)
  • Sound understanding of key financial concepts, solid theoretical background in finance and accounting
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
