Job Description

This role plays a key role in developing and enhancing out existing and next-generation industrial control products. You will report to the Team Lead - Hardware, and have a hybrid schedule working in Mayfield Heights, OH.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enhance products including Programmable Logic Controllers, I/O Products, and Communication devices.

  • All phases of product development including requirements definition, complex circuit design for embedded systems, functional safety impact assessment, product verification and certification testing, and release to production.

  • You will work on a product development team collaborating with Engineers across multiple disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, ASI C/FPGA development, embedded software), Scrum Masters, Product Management, Quality, and Operations to bring our product roadmaps to life.

The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar Engineering Technology degree.

  • 2 years of experience in product development and release of printed circuit board level electronic hardware systems with expertise in high-speed digital design (using components such as microcontrollers, DDR memories, Ethernet, ASICs, FPGAs).

  • Programming skills in Python or C/C++ or LabVIEW or other test automation tools/software.

  • Experience designing electrical circuits and printed circuit boards for hardware systems with expertise in analog design (using components such as DACs, ADCs, opamps, comparators, current and voltage sensing, active and passive filters) or isolated power supply design.

  • Experience with electronic hardware design tools such as schematic capture (Mentor Graphics or similar), PCB design, timing analysis, and signal integrity (HyperLynx or similar).

  • Experience developing test plans, and implementing tests for hardware qualification, product certification and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience with Rockwell Automation Software programming tools and programming skills in Ladder Logic Experience creating UL/ATEX compliant design (isolation / spacing), preventing and eliminating EMC/EMI issues.

  • Experience developing electronic hardware systems that meet product certification requirements, such as UL, CE, or IEC 61010.

  • Experience developing products using Agile/Scrum methodologies, in a Scaled Agile Framework Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar related technical discipline.

  • Experience developing electronic hardware systems that meet functional safety standards; IEC 61508 and/or SIL2/SIL3.

  • Experience with fault tolerant design, redundant design, high availability design, or avionics design.

  • Experience developing electronic hardware systems that meet security standards, such as IEC 62443 and functional safety standards, such as IEC 61511.

  • Experience performing PFD/PFH calculations for safety applications.

  • Experience performing availability analysis of redundant elements (e.g., using software such as BlockSim).

  • Professional certification related to process safety (e.g., Certified Functional Safety Expert, Certified Functional Safety Practitioner, or ISA84) or formal process safety training from a recognized body (e.g., exida, ISA, or TUV).
